ABOUT

Dom Jones, from Oakland, CA, is an artist and creative entrepreneur. The Founder and Principal Artist at Dom Empire, she weaves her passion for music, media, and social justice through various projects.

An International Songwriting Competition Winner in 2014, Dom released her first album, Wingspan, that same year.

Dom graduated from Berklee College in 2019 as a dual major in Songwriting and Music Business. Her music has been lauded as a beacon for social change through recognition from Berklee’s Songs for Social Change, BAMS Fest, and she is a 2019 Composer for the Hear Her Song project. Dom was the only female rapper in her graduating class, and honored the legendary Missy Elliott, the first rapper to receive an honorary doctorate from Berklee, with a performance at Agganis Arena in Boston. Her work for the Hear Her Song project premiered at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC in Summer 2019. Her first single of 2020, "Crazytown" was featured at the Grammy U Virtual Conference by The Recording Academy. Her second single, "Sayin' Nothin'" was released on Juneteenth as a call to action. Dom is a 2020 Bakanal de Afrique Artist Fellow, and self-published her second book, CHASM, and an EP of the same name in Spring 2021.

She is the 2022 recipient of the ASCAP Foundation's Jay Gorney Award for emerging songwriters, and released her collaborative EP, PASSPORTAL, with producer and composer Eric Fells in October 2022.

She is currently living and working in Los Angeles, with new music releasing far more often than she would like to update this artist bio.
